How to clear up cloudy screen?

I was wondering if someone could tell me if it is possible to clear up our cloudy screen? The t.v. is a lxi 52 inch projection t.v. that was sold at sears store. We bought it from some people we know but I don't know the year it was manfactured. What is wrong is the screen looks cloudy and I was wondering if there is someway to clear it up to make it come in better? I didn't know if they make an adapter to connect it or if something needs changed on the t.v.
