plug in game problem?

my daughter has a plug in game for use with a TV. it has a white & yellow connector cables which we have plugged in at the back. how do we get the game to work? the booklet says to use the aux channel.do i need to tune this in,as i cant get it to play on screen at all.the tv is an Alba TVD3455. The power light shows on the game,so dont think thats faulty.
