purepower is notorious for blocking, this would give this problem, this vac has a motor overheat protector if it blocks up the motor stops running, check for any blockages, make sure bag is not too full, if bagless model take out inner cannister and clean,if no sign of blockages, remove filters,2 under bottom of paper bag, 1 at rear of vac, quite large filter, under plastic cover, app 7" x4" remove cover and take out honeycomb filter, leave filters out and try vac again, if this cures problem, replace filters. filter kit costs £7.95, this is for 2 below paper bag and 2 honeycomb filters,1 spare filter, if bagless take out inner sleeve of cannister and do the same test, also if bagless there is a slight chance of faulty motor, not worth repairing, but to be fair to vac, motor can take a lot of hammering,I think you will find more likely to be filters or blockage feel free to e-mail jonsemple@talktalk.net
