grinding from steering when turning. Mondeo Ghia MK11 (W reg)?

I have a grinding noise on my Mondeo Ghia MK11 (W reg) that appears to come from the suspension strut. Only happens when turning the steering wheel. I suspect it may be the top thrust bearing. What do you think? Any help would be apreciated. Many thanks.
I also have a noise from the O/S/F/ when cornering right. It sounds like the disc touching the disc cover. Problem is there is no disc cover. Any help on this one would also be very aoreciated. Thanks again. Derek
