How can i access the area between the drum and the seal?

I think a metal item has fallen through the holes on the drum and has stuck at the bottom. when the drum rotates there is a loud "clicking" noise.
It does not prevent the drum from turning but I am worried it may caused irrepairable damage
How can I access this area? I have looked for a way in through the back but cannot find anywhere and it appears the only way through the front is to completely take out the seal which is permanently fixed at the door.
The make is an Electra washing machine
