Mend Zanussi DE4744 Dishwasher Draining Flashing

Zanussi DE4744 Problem Please Help !!!!!?

The dishwasher drains water out first, then it fills up and then it just stops. Two lights then flash at the same time (the drying light and the finished light) at the same time. This happens 90% of the time, occasionally it will work fine but seems a bit noisy like a whistling sound. Can anybody help as i have only used this about 70 times over 2 the two years have had it.

Yeh same problem here .... took covers off and freed up main motor ,(big one at the bottom) bit of food stuck in there I think ..works fine afterwards ...

I had the same fault, which turned out to be a stuck impeller on the main motor.

I managed to free the impeller by dismantling the dishwasher, removing the main pump and soaking the impeller with WD40.

When I asked Zanussi about the price of a new motor, they quote £93 (inc of VAT & delivery), which I think warrants buying somebody elses dishwasher next time round. Never been impressed with this machine, and it too died within 3 months of the warranty expiring.

My manual states that if the washing & drying light flash together then the machine has an internal leak, and they advise you to call the sevice force centre. see pade 21 of manual.

Mine is flashing the wash selected & drying light. Different from yours and different from the manual.

I suspect that different light combinations indicate to a service engineer different faults.

I'm trying to track down a service manual on the web.
