Mend Peugeot 405 Fan Minutes Switched

how can i fix my coolant fan on my peugeot 405?

the coolant fan stays on all the tim when driving, and stays on for a few minutes when engine switched off.the car is a peugeot 405 gls diesel

Peugeot Peugeot 405 Vehicles, Cars Fan Minutes Switched

When the fan is operating (and shouldn't be) disconnect the lead to the thermostatic switch which I believe is half way up the radiator nearside.

WATCH YOU DON'T CATCH ANYTHING IN THE FAN'S BLADES.

I would suspect this thermostatic switch is faulty or current is managing to bypass it somehow.
