How can I repair the high hat?

i have a premier hit hat flush base model 70s the spring broke anyway to get to it and put in a new one

Sounds like your spring is broken. You should be able to unscrew the bottom near your pedal, where it goes into the stand, and check the spring there.

Try:
1) Checking the spindle is screwed into the foot system.
2) The clutch nut attached to the top hi hat is tightened o as to grip the spindle.

I think this site is used to harvest repair information from the public for free that will be sorted, filtered and then appear on a chargeable website. Then this site will be closed (what a cynic I am). How/Why else can they host it advert free?
