Mend Toshiba D-VR5SU Dvd Switch

How can I fix DVD Recorder-VCR Toshiba D-VR5SU?

Toshiba D-VR5SU dvd recorder-vcr combo. You can turn it on using the on-off switch but it won't turn off at the switch . Can not open/close the dvd player. The switch that controls the vcr/dvd does not move back in forth only stays lite for the dvd player side. There may be more things but these are the only things I'm looking at right now.

I have the same problem. I tried to unplug for several minutes and re-plug it but I can only turn it on. I can not turn it off. Did you find a solution?
