Mend NETGEAR Router Network Connection

netgear help?

netgear was connected to my laptop now it wont work it has worked for 4 weeks i tried to reinstall and now all i get is the on light and nothing else when i run the installer it tells me the earthnet cable is not in at both ends or the router is not plugged in to the power supply can u help thanx
