Kitchen Aid washing machine will not spin. what is the problem?

wes - I'm having the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the motor coupling. Lay your machine down on its face and check on the floor for black grindings and plastic pins about an inch long. You can also look between the motor and the transmission to see if the coupling assembly is chewed up. Not that hard to replace
