indicator comes on when brake is pressed?

when i apply the brake the indicator and brake lights will flash on a 94 rover metro

HAHA A BIZARE PROBLEM YOU GOT THERE,

you probably have a poor earth/ground connection to the light cluster, clean and tighten the connectors and all should be ok. (what is happening is the brake lights are taking a path to earth through the indicator bulb and flasher unit)
