I'm refinishing a cheap old drum kit and I want to remove the tom mount on the kick before I re-cover the shell. There are holes for the 7/8" tom arms as well as mounting screw holes. What is the best way to fill these holes before applying a new drum wrap?
Plug the hole with a wooden plug!
glue it in place so it doesn't vibrate then when its dry send off the excess and its like the hole wasn't even there!, try and use the same wood as the drum kit but as its a cheap one shouldnt matter much!

Hey there,
Use some woodglue and sawdust of about the same colour or find a wood fioer that is about the same. It's hard to cover up a hole exactly unless you treat the inside as well. There's a great article on rebuilding a drumset on my site www.drumdojo.com
