Unlock my Matsui VP9407A video recorder?

I have a Matsui VP9407A VHS video recorder which is security coded. Unfortunately when I moved house recently and reconnected it, I was asked for a password but I can't remember what it is. The manufacturer wants a small fortune to unlock it for me but I resent paying this. Is there a way to unlock it?

Many thanks for your help in resetting my video. When my new cable box was connected I didnt bother connecting by VHS for a while and then couldnt.

Switching it off for 20 mins and pressing the REC and channel up button together worked and I was able to put in my PIN no. All is working fine now.

On the front of the video hold channel up button and press QTR for about five seconds, this should unlock the machine - works on the VX1106 so worth a try

The dude is asking how to bypass the pin, NOT how to reset to allow 3 more attempts to be put in. Jesus, the internet is jammed with time wasters

to Reset MATSUI Video VP9407A which is showing 'PROTECED' Unplug mains for 20 minutes, then plug in agian, power on, then PRESS CH UP & RECORD BUTTONS TOGETHER.. unless you power off for 20 minutes, the buttons won't reset the video.
