How to fix the steam knob on my Delonghi Icona Eco machine?

The steam knob control on top continues to spin and will not turn off/close. So the steam continues to be pushed out always, and leaks water/steam when making espresso.
I opened up the machine and it seems like it's more of an internal issue with the gold part inside turning and not catching on something it's supposed to? Does anyone know if this can be fixed/easily replaced?
