Mend Toyota Avensis D4d

Toyota avensis D4d 2011?

Blocked EGR valve all lights came on on dashboard have been told to get it remapped to get rid of lights' this happened on previous Toyota 2007 model but just blocked it of and no problems so why do lights come on in this model and people tell me to get it remapped

Does the exhaust give out black smoke? If so get the engine chemically cleaned it cost me about £200. this fixed it ( I tried changing the EGR Valve and that didn't work.)

Probably the lights some on because there is more diagnostics going on. Possibly people are suggesting the best way they know to get round the problem.
