Bendix autowasher 800 programme dial refitted in wrong position ?

Hi an over enthusiastic (but well meaning) mate removed the top of washing machine. Then he removed knob of programme dial + pulled the programmer off the selector. The problem is he didn't put knob in '0' position first + he didn't note position of anything, he just put it back together - consequently the programmes now don't correspond to indications on dial. Is there a way to sort this out? Thanks
