Mend Morphy Richards 330019 Iron Working

My steam iron isn't working ?

I have a Morphy Richards power steam elite iron, the de-scaler button came on so I cleaned it out. But the de-scaler permanently stayed on, so I cleaned it several times. Eventually the button went off, but now the iron either keeps turning itself off or water and steam is pumping out of the ironing and now tripped my circuit board, does this mean my iron is knackered? Model no: 330019
