Mend Steam Coming Iron

Why is steam coming from the bottom of my iron?

My iron steams ok, but steam also coming from bottom of iron. Never done this before.

I have an old model Premium Evolution II. I removed the bottom housing from the frame, took the cover off of it and found the steam hose had cracked at the end from heat/age. I cut off the damaged hose end and reattached it with the original clamp and it works fine now.

Sorry, I meant steam coming from the bottom of the base unit.
