Dimplex opti imist heater problem?

my Dimplex Optimist fire wont operate as flame effect only, the heater & fan are on continually regardless of setting so it's unuseable in warmer weather. The remote beeps in all the right places etc. but it still throws out heat continually anyone had similar problem
