Mend Bosch G400 Light Red Flashes

Why is the light flashing on my Bosch G400 vacuum cleaner?

The red light flashes and the vacuum loses power.

I don't have one of these - but if I think about it for a moment and ask myself why the manufacturer bothers to fit an attention getting flashing light I can only reach one conclusion - the cleaner is asking for it to be emptied of dust and fluff...
