Mend McCulloch MT325CLS Start Longer Working

fix pull start on my mcculloch mt325cls brushcutter?

my pull start is no longer working and is all the way out and wont recoil.
what is the process to fix this. i am down to the clutch washer and it appears that there is a screw inside that has to be undone! is there? and if so is it left or right hand thread?
