Resistors generally have colour (color) bands to indicate the resistance - some special resistors have tiny writing to give their value.

Resistors fail in one of three ways
They can age and go open circuit
They can become too warm over time because of high current - turn brown and brittle and go open circuit
They can explode because of sudden and excessively high current caused by an over voltage fault somewhere else in the circuit- a nearby component.

If you do manage to find the resistor value - and replace it - there's a very strong chance that the new resistor will also explode. Your exploded resistor is a symptom of another fault - not the cause of the fault.
