ticking and air?

I bet it's a Peugeot 308 rather than a peugout 308 - you didn't say here but I found out.

Your ticking noise suggests a problem with the engine - you might consider taking it to a garage for diagnosis.

Years ago I used to use a wooden spoon pressed against my ear as a form of stethoscope to diagnose noisy machinery - more effective than you might imagine.

try removing fan belt,if the noise disappears then that narrows it down to pulleys/alternators etc
