Mend Karcher 1105 Water Locked Open

karcher vaporapid 1105?

My karcher steamer has run out of water but I can't undo it to put more in, it has locked up, how can I open it please

From READING THE MANUAL:

3.6 Refilling with water
Note :
When the water in the boiler has been used up, the red low-water warning lamp (A6) will illuminate. The safety cap (A2) cannot be opened while there is any pressure at all in the boiler.

Operate the outlet control and let the pressure out - the lid is stuck fast because of internal pressure.
