I have Model #CHW12, doesnt work?

The power comes on, lights are a go, but the water pump and heat both stopped at same time. Can this be repaired or should I trash it? I have had this unit for 4 1/2 years with no problems.

This is a Cuisinart 12 cup coffee machine - Amazon USA sell it but Amazon UK do not - probably N America only.

The pump will only run when the water reaches temperature - so my guess is that the heating element is defective and the pump probably OK.

Given that a new machine is less than $100 you may be wise to just buy a new one - it may well cost you 50% of the original price to get your broken one fixed - parts, labor & carriage.
