Hoover Apollo Deluxe dryer is blowing luke warm air?

I have just bought a second hand Apollo Deluxe dryer, model D6760.
I turned it on for the first time, after checking the lint filter and the grille at the back where the air comes in, and it is blowing only just warm air. I think after a while it then goes cold.
When I picked it up it was on a front loader washing machine upside down, it was transported like that, then turned up the other way when I got it home.
I would like to know what the problem could be if it is still blowing warm air even though it's not hot enough.
