how can i fix my hotpoint washing machine 1000?

machine stops on rinse but when turn dial to next option it starts again,missing out on rinsing

depends on the model, could be the cold solonoid valve which is normally a double, one feeds the wash & rinse which is the one thats faulty the other feeds the conditioner..It washes ok because it fills with hot water but when it gets to rinse it wont fill you move it on it pumps out then moves on to next rinse then stops again. Worth a look at.

hi looks like a timer fault (expensive) they are well known not to last very long on these
