They go in the mounting bracket for the handle bar/ guide rail. The larger spring goes in the bottom casting that is already attached to the machine. Then the middle part goes on top which has a smaller circular cast in it where the smaller spring fits then the handle bar & finally the top casting and it's all held together with the long bolt with black top. Hope this makes some sense :)
