Mend Panasonic DMR-EH50 Works Fine Burner

DMR-EH50 DVD Recorder-burner won't open?

My recorder works fine but the burner door won't open and screeches loudly when I try to open it.

Also, I can't find a replacement burner for the unit to buy.
