ldv convoy 2001 Cutting out?

Hi
My LDV Tipper is cutting out whilst driving. This has happened 3 times now leaving me stranded each time. I have fuel going into the engine, because when the injectors are opened fuel is spurting out.
The engine turns over but won't fire until the battery dies. The problem has then seemed to sort itself out when I have got it home and turned it over on a re charged battery.
Any ideas????
