Mend Hewlett Packard Blue Screen Error

how do i fix the blue screen error?

My windows xp was perfect. but one day a blue screen flashed after the windows xp loading screen where the green bar moves across the screen. it flashed with words but not long enough for me to read it. i recorded it on camera and managed to read it faintly. it said some thing like: 'windows xp has encounted a problem and needs to restart, if this screen appears again, there may be something wrong with the computer.' and then it restarts an d does it all over again. at the start i went into setup by pressing F2 but it crashed and nothing happens. the next time i tries to turn it on, it beeped about 5 times and the screen would not turn on. it has benn doing this ever since. windows xp home. hewlett packard.

I had this problem. BAD_POOL_CALLER, 0xC2.
After trying everything (memory/hard drive diagnostic utilities, swapping memory, re-installing windows, reformatting the hard drive, replacing drivers, crashdump analysis etc, etc) I had to replace the hard drive and re-install XP. this was despite the hard drive passing all diagnostics with flying colours!

The dodgy HD was a SATA Western Digital 2.5GB.

Hi I get this problem about twice a week on customers PC's and the solution (95% success rate) is to start machine with XP disk in drive (you may have to adjust bios to strat from CD) and start from CD when you get menu choose repair xp installation using recovery console Option R You need a dos prompt such as C:\ type chkdsk /r (note space between chkdsk and /r) This may take some time and when it finishes type exit to restart

I had the blue windows encounted problem page once it was down to an memory card reader which was crashing windows. My advice would be to disconnect any devices you have linked to your computer, Then when starting your computer continually hit the F8 button till you get a black screen with a list of choices, Using the arrows choose SAFE MODE your computer should start to list up, Depending on the problem this may take a while check the indicator light on your computer to make sure the HardDrive is working (i.e there should be a little LED light flashing every now and then on the front of your computer,If it's not flashing at all or continually flashing it maybe your HardDrive has burnt out,Go away make yourself a cup of tea and wait a while and see if you computer manages to load up.If does not you may need to take it to a specialist to get the HardDrive repaired or even replaced.) It should eventually load up a windows screen that you will recognize but that will look larger and more blocky. Select the DISK DEFRAGMENTOR programme(There will be a shortcut to it or you can find it by clicking on the Start button, then going to programmes-accessories-systemtools). When its loaded select the hard drive (If you have more than one HardDrive you will have to do them one at a time) click on analyze, The computer will analyze that hard drive and show the info on the colour bar. You should have a load of blue some green and maybe the odd little bit of red. If there's a lot of red then you need to click on Defragment. You may need to do this a few times until the computer says you do not need to. If you have more Hard drives do the same to them. This should have cleaned up your drives allowing you to restart your computer which should hopefully load up like normal(Unless you know what you doing don't go messing arond with any of the other programmes or settings when in SAFE MODE as SAFE MODE allows you to do things to your computer that when in normal mode you would not be allowed to do.So best to leave it all alone and not risk messing up anything else on your computer). If it does I would advise you to run a virus check, If you have norton run a virus check, disk clean up, WinDoctor, and then One button check up. Probably a good idea to run Windows defender as well incase you got some spyware causing the problems(Don't run them all at the same time, Its better to run each programme one at a time). If you do not have the windows defender download it from the Microsoft Windows site. If you do not have Norton then run whatever virus protection programme you use. But I would advise you to get Norton as in my experience its the best virus protection out there at the moment.
Once you have done all this don't forget to empty your recycle bin and if you have Norton empty norton protected files you can access these by right clicking on the bin symbol on you computer. Hopefully this will have solved your problem or at least helped you or anyone else with a simillar problem. Good Luck.

it looks like a hardware problem, possibily a RAM type of problem. Open your PC and remove one piece of RAM, and try it, if same thing, try removing the other RAM piece. if you have only one RAM piece then you will have to get another same type to swap test it, otherwise your PC wont work without having a piece of RAM.
