Have just bought a transit and the guy i got it from said it was 'gutless' low on power. We have changed the diesel filter, changed air filter, bled all the injectors and still no better. Any ideas on the problem or possiblities?

Hi chris, its not the brakes, its only has 126000 miles which lets face facts is nothing for a transit, i think it is the injectorsas it has no power and misfiring, it has been looked after as i have the history from it beening a hire van to a builder who got the book stamped, so i think i will get the injectors out and checked.

Is it mis-firing or not pulling well at any speed? if its the latter i would check to see that the brakes weren't binding. Could be any number of things like injector problems or low compression, especially if its very high mileage and/or poorly maintained. Good luck as it should serve you well once sorted.
