Optima XM6 intruder alarm keeps going off and showing a light next to TAMPER. New battery has been installed yesterday. Family have been in all the time, no one has had chance to tamper with anything.
If you've got a optima xm6 then the chances are that its your bell box you will either have a old shabby big box or a early klaxon flashguard With the singular red led
or like e-manno said you ain't closed the lid properly

Isolate mains power before you open it up again.
Mains voltages kills.

Failing that then check the PA circuit " Attack"???.
Ain't got PA button then check the link across the pcb's PA terminals.
If it was ok before then you have disturbed something?.
