how is the timing set for bs 12.5 engine?

i replaced the crank rod on my briggs 12.5hp but i need help in setting the valve timing

Briggs & Stratton Briggs & Stratton BS 12.5 Garden Tools, Lawn Mowers Briggs Engine Lawnmower

There should be a scribed line or punch mark on the one tooth of the crank gear and one tooth of the cam gear. Just line up the marks. If the engine has ball bearings on the crankshaft the timing mark is on the crank throw.
