Mend Vauxhall Combo 53 Van Start Cut Out

repacing barrel?

had to have new ignition barral for vauxhall combo van after removing old barrel,new barrel wont lock in but i can turn key and car will start for about 10 sec then cut out its a 53 van any help please i am getting desprate

the ignition switch must be in position 1,that is just before the ign.lights are on,and the barrel must also be in position 1 with the key in,the steering lock may be on also and if you look in the aperture you can see it,just lever it up with a screw driver and it should click into place for the barrel to be inserted.I take it you got the barrel built up to suit your key no. if not you may have immobiliser issues with the cutting out and will need to go onto Tech2 to sort that out,good luck.
