ldv with 2.5 transit engine cut out and now wont start?
customer was driving the van and said when changing gear the van cut out. The glow plug light was flashing when we recieved the vehicle. now wont start at all. we are unable to get any trouble codes as our diagnostic equipment is not compatible. I have checked the rotary fuel pump feeds and were getting 12v then drops to 9v on cranking. I am also getting a crank speed signal. any pointers would be appreciated.
would get it code read and see whats going on with fuel pressure,engine speed with live data.

another thought which has happened to me lending a deisel car out is that they put petrol in the car and only found out through the smell of mixed petrol and deisel

also an idea to check fuel solenoid clicking when ignition turned on to signify opening to let fuel through if not clicking first check relay if ok mthen suspect solenoid cos if fuel filter not change regularly water trap overflows and seizes the solenoid in which case will need replacing

if you have a primer pump on fuel filter check that it is primed up and unable to press any more if does suspect fracture in fuel line letting air in check all pipes to fuel filter and any after will be able to see deisel leaking from if primed

my bad its a 2.4litre. fuel pump looks fairly new

yes there is fuel getting to the injectors although im not sure about the pressure. It just lightly spits out on cranking with the injector pipes cracked

have you checked for fuel coming up to injectors ???
