Scantronic 9827 is saying bF and sounding internal alarm. ?

Guys - really need some help here.

bF error. Eng code 7890 does not work and I have no idea what it is? It is 5 am in the morning and at this stage I dont know what to do!

What happens if I disconnect the sounder?

Thanks guys, the default engineering code has worked and we will at least have an alarm free night. Many thanks!
Now, to see about buying a new battery and replacing. Will the outside sounder still go off when I remove the old battery with the system in engineering mode? And, if it does, will it stop when the new battery is replaced and user code inputted?

hi Susie,if you need the engineering manual let me know,my friend e manno gave you the default code but it may have ben changed by the installer,if its not then your ok,follow e mannos advice,if it has been then you will need the manual to tell you how to sort it out

If you dont know engineering code then try the default,07890,
If it's accepted it will display the red letter e for engineering and should stop the internal alarm.

If code not work then as below.

If you know the engineering code then enter that and leave the system in programming.

If you only know the user code then you can either go B&Q and buy a 12v 7Ah battery or shut the system down until you by one.

Either way you must first turn the mains power off to the alarm panel,remove the lid and disconnect and remove the battery.

With power off and battery removed the outside sounder will sound off albeit at a reduced level until the battery inside the sounder dies.

To fit new battery then power off first, replace battery,refit lid,turn power back on,code in.

E manno, thank you for your response. I realise it is a battery fault, but my question is, what do I do about that (ie how do you change the battery) and how can I silence the internal alarm in the meantime?

A new battery should restore order.

bf is a battery fault code,so your scantronic is actually saying what's wrong by displaying this code.
