Hi I recently changed the battery due to the alarm going off intermittently when not set,big problem now is that the tamper light is lit constantly.I have checked the lid and all appears correct,but the tamper remains lit although my code did stop the internal alarm.
Do i need to follow a special procedure now to reset it other than what it says in the instructions,or are i missing something?.

the tamper spring can slip sometimes and not engage in the rear casing and as e manno said can fall off so something to look out in future my friend don't you be doing homers now,and do us guys out of dosh :-):-):-)

It was the lid tamper spring causing the problem.

also you may have to stretch the tamper spring care fully,hold bottom of the spring and pull gently ,don't rip it out now !!!!!!!:-)

Check the tamper spring is there because that's usually the first thing that drops from the panel when the lid is removed,never to be seen again. :)
Switch the mains off before you open her up.
Also a low resistance on the bell return can cause your initial issue if it keeps sounding intermittently with new battery fitted,so you will need to replace the battery in the bell box.
