Re fit heater element?

Hoover VHC 180 180 condenser tumble dryer. can't get at the heater cable connectors as it goes into the dryer. ie the cable goes through a 25mm hole in the casing and then a connector inside, I can't see how to get at this connector to remove old cable the fit new one. Help please
