Mend Potterton 24 Boiler Plumbing Radiator

We are not getting hot water Whymight that be?

At the moment the boiler does not heat the water. The Green light is on.When the dial is on Radiator/Water the light remains on if we put it to Water only the light goes off.
It is a Potterton 24

Green light should be on 24/7 either water only or with heating. there may be electrical fault on switch contact where you select switch function
