transit stuck in gear !?

Mine did this 3 yrs ago, then again last week.

Tried to lubricate the shaft of the selector turret. Didn't work. Even light oil won't run in.

Carb cleaner on selector turret shaft! Bingo. Ran 3 years without issue again.

This time gear lever started to get stiff going sideways. Straight to shed. Quick squirt of carb cleaner and its away again no problem.

I am guessing it is a FWD. When you had the top lid off the g/box you should see a row of selectors at the front of the aperture,the slots in the selectors should be in a row when in neutral and you can usually select gears by hand and test each one individually.Replace the lid with each selector in neutral and the top lid should locate quite easily in that position.If the van wants to still drive in neutral then think you have internal problems with the g/box.
