replace inlet valve on hoover 2005?

one or both of the water inlet valves are not working, originally the water would not stop filling, then it wouldnt get past the valve to fill. i took the valves off and swapped them around (hot to cold) to see if the cold was broken and plugged the wiring back into the valve, now nothing happens at all, no electrical sound when i switch power on, is it the valve? hav i put the wiring plugs back in wrong? (i tried all configurations)
