Thorn VCR Sign on display power less?

Thorn VCR Sign on display like a star in a box [*] on the left side of the VCRs display only appeared after my 2yr old and the remote now the screen has that [*] sign and the recorder will not take a tape or do anything at all :(

Please if anyone knows reset let us know, Thanks.
