Mend Toyota EC21 Model Running Machine

How can I fix my Toyota Classic (EC21 model)?

The material is running through the feed teeth backwards on the machine but leaver is in the correct position on the machine for running forwards?

could be just a matter of oil needed on feed dog mechanism but also possibility of reverse cam unit flipped over,that will mean taking off cover and reset,normally its a shaft connected to a small slider operating in a open end follower.no easy way to explain but open covers and see how mechanism work
