Mend Flymo Fuel Spark Hole

flymo maxi trim super fires when i pour fuel into spark plug hole?

I've replaced the small fuel line in my flymo maxi trim super, but it will only start when I pour fuel into the spark plug hole. How do I service the carburetor to make the petrol flow? or is there another solution?
Thanks in advance any advice appreciated.
