Mend creda Dryer Filter Cleaning

creda condenser dryer filter?

In removed the bottom filter to clean it and cannot get it to go back in. It seems to be getting stuck on something at the back but there's nothing there. Its as if its too low for the opening at the back? any help appreciated.
