Mend Hoover AAA140 Error Washing Working

Hoover AAA140 Error Number 7?

My Hoover AAA140 Whisper washing machine has stopped working and is displaying "Error Number 7". Any ideas what this means ?

Any advice on how to fix this, is it something someone with a limited amount of technical/mechanical knowledge could do or will I have to call out an engineer ? Hoover have quoted £89 + VAT for someone to come out and take a look, which is more than the 2nd hand cost of it the machine.
I'm trying to decide whether its best to buy a new one or worth trying to have it repaired.

E7/E8 Motor or drum jammed, motor tacho faulty
