Mend Fisher & Paykel Excellence 7.5 Top Water Set

Fish&Payk Excellence 7.5 top loadr - water overflows from top of machine?

The machine is set on Favourites, cold wash, short wash, auto water level, fast spin
Water did not automatically switch off when filling, and overflowed out of the TOP of the washing machine. (It's a top loader)
Otherwise the machine seems to do the other work - it empties the bowl, refills (but still without auto cut-off of water level) and does a spin when the lights are advanced to the next stage of the cycle.
It is almost 12 years old.

locate the narrow tubing leading from the switching area down to the drum, if you examine the bottle type device that the hose is attached to you will probably find that the bottle is full of sludge preventing the pressure from reaching the switch at the top.clean out the bottle and also check the hose at that end for blockage, before you re assemble you could blow through the hose and listen for the pressure switch to click over. occasionaly it can be down to leaks in the hose
