Mend Craftsman 917.273090 Model Shaft

remove steering assembly from Craftsmand tractor model 917.273090?

The teeth on the end of the steering shaft of the Craftsman tractor are slipping on the steering Gear , Sector steering part. I need to know how to remove these parts and replace them. I have it raised up but am not sure where to start to remove the steering shaft and steering Gear. It slips and won't turn to the left. Thanks.
